About RIAD Studio

I am Emily Schwamb, trained as an interior designer with a passion for crafting thoughtful, functional, and timeless homes. My journey into design started when I was just five years old, sketching out elaborate dream homes (complete with interior ski slopes and bowling alleys). That childhood fascination with space planning and problem-solving led me to pursue a degree in interior design, and after graduation + 3 years of hospitality design in Denver, I’ve spent the past 15 years designing custom homes, renovations, and additions.

I specialize in Residential Interior & Architectural Design (hence the name RIAD…). I focus on the entirety of the home, not just furniture and accessories. My work includes everything from exterior finishes to interior fabrics, and everything in between. I collaborate closely with homeowners, builders, and architects to bring each project to life, ensuring that every detail is intentional and every space works beautifully for the people who live in it.

  • I believe in design that respects the home’s history while making it work for modern life.

  • I believe form follows function.

  • And I believe in taking the time to get it right.

If you’re looking for someone who can visualize the big picture, advocate for every design detail throughout the construction process, and make the process as seamless as possible, I’d love to hear about your project.

Who I work with:

My clients have built a life they’re proud of, but their homes are not serving them and are not in alignment with their expectations, be that functionally, aesthetically, or both.

They value quality, clarity, and thoughtfulness. They don’t have time to micromanage a renovation, but they do want it done right.

They come to me because they need more than just pretty finishes; they need a smart floor plan, a design that reflects how they actually live, and someone who can collaborate confidently with their contractor to keep the project moving.

They want their home to feel calm, elevated, and tailored to their family’s lifestyle, and they trust me to get them there.

What I provide:

A clear, confident process

Someone who "gets" your lifestyle without judgment or explanation

Floor plans that solve functional pain points

Selection help that cuts through overwhelm and reflects your style

Trustworthy communication and proactive coordination with the builder

A beautiful result, but more importantly; a home that works

I specialize in full-home and majority-home renovations, additions, and transformative layouts for professionals and families who love where they live but know their home could serve them better.

From thoughtful space planning to finish selections and builder collaboration, I manage the design process from start to finish—so you can focus on your life while I focus on creating a home that supports you and everything you love.
